Integrations

MiBa is widely integrated into the Danish health IT infrastructure. National standards make it possible to communicate clearly and collaborate across the Danish healthcare sector.

MiBa integrations

Access to test results in MiBa is achieved through the end user's IT system, e.g., the regional electronic health records or national systems such as Laboratoriesvarportalen via WebReq. This ensures that submitting results and viewing test results from MiBa is experienced as a natural part of healthcare professionals’ workflow

Citizens access their test results via citizen-oriented solutions, e.g., Sundhedsjournalen or test results on Sundhed.dk, and mobile solutions such as MinSundhed.

Access to MiBa is obtained using secure solutions. This means that the local IT system has a MiBa user account. Administration of the end user's ID and rights to view data for a given personal identification number are managed locally.

MiBa logs data on systems that log onto MiBa, tracking which end user accessed specific personal identification numbers, along with the end user’s organisational affiliations.

MiBa integrates with other systems in two ways:

  • A deep link where the end user is taken to MiBa and sees test results in the MiBa user interface.
  • A solution based on a web service where the end user's system (e.g., Laboratoriesvarportalen) requests and retrieves test results from MiBa available for the personal identification number in question. The retrieved test results are then displayed in a local user interface. When the end user leaves their session, the test results are no longer available. Test results are not saved in the end user's system.

The MiBAlert function is based on a web service-based call. If you access MiBa via the MiBAlert icon, you are given access via a deep link.

MiBa-Electronic health record integrations in the five Danish regions

The Capital Region of Denmark and Region Zealand have integrated MiBa into their electronic health record, including MiBAlert and access to test results. The North Denmark Region and the Region of Southern Denmark have implemented MiBa and MiBAlert in their new electronic health records. The Central Denmark Region has implemented MiBAlert and is expected to fully implement the MiBa integration in the future.
